Sergio Soares
Sergio holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Federal University of Pernambuco in 2004. He is an Associate Professor at Informatics Center / Federal University of Pernambuco Center (CIn/UFPE), one of the top-5 Computer Science Departments in Brazil. He was a Visiting Researcher at MIT Industrial Performance Center, researching how to increase manufacturing firms' productivity through Digitalization. Sergio has published more than 150 academic documents among papers, chapters, and books, has more than 2.600 citations according to Google Scholar (https://scholar.google.com.br/citations?user=Jqll4wwAAAAJ), and supervises postdoc, doctoral, masters, specialization, scientific initiation and final coursework in Computer Science having overcome 100 advised researchers and students so far. He has experience in coordinating research, development, and innovation projects funded by SENAI, CNPq, FACEPE, FINEP, Petrobras, Information Technology Law, and the industry. Sergio is the Executive Coordinator of INES - Science and Technology National Institute for Software Engineering and was Enterprise Relationship Director of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) from 2015 to 2017. He was Director of the SENAI Innovation Institute for Information and Communication Technologies (ISI-TICs) from 2013 to 2020, being responsible to design the institute from scratch being Chairman of SENAI's Industry Advanced Market Alliance, responsible for dealing with challenges associated with Industry 4.0, Advanced Manufacturing, IoT, and Digitization for the Brazilian Industry 2018-2020
