The latter was measured via a questionnaire (MCSQ – 40), translated (back – forth) into Polish, English, Vietnamese, Hindu, and Spanish (n = 945). Economic and technological factors were extracted from the Global Innovation Index dataset. Knowledge workers and market sophistication were chosen as the factors. The former factor when strong in a given country enhanced MCS of participants. Conversely, the latter factor, that is market sophistication, decreased MCS level of participants when significant. The results are explained in terms of Marx's theory, the beneficial role of human technology, and the theories of consciousness.

Values are concepts or beliefs about desirable end states or behaviors, that transcend specific situations, guide selection or evaluation of behavior and events, and are ordered by relative importance. Referring to Scheler’s philosophical concept, the hierarchies of values among Polish students were compared between 2006 (Fanslau & Brycz, 2006) and 2017. PARTICIPANTS AND PROCEDURE. 603 (in total) adults participated in two studies. All of them were undergraduate students of various Universities from the Tri-City. They filled in the Scheler’s Value Scale. RESULTS. The results showed that the model hierarchy of values postulated by philosophers is not reflected in the minds of young (18–33 years old) Poles now and it was not reflected over a decade ago either. Moreover, significant differences between the levels of certain values were found. CONCLUSIONS. It turned out that philosophical theories once accepted and adapted to psychology no longer have the same meaning as bef...

The aim of this study was to explore how perceived technostress while learning a new pro-healthy technology may be grounded in dispositional anxiety, attitudes towards ICT (Information and Communication Technologies), and the way technology is presented. Verifying the hypotheses, a study was conducted with the participation of N = 1,037 individuals, in which the 'technology presentation' was manipulated and selected individual differences were measured. As expected, it was found that presenting the new technology in the form of a popular science article was associated with the perception of this technology as more threatening and overloading compared to the situation in which the technology was presented in the form of a marketing leaflet with an unequivocally positive message. Moreover, it was shown that people characterized by higher dispositional a...

This method is based on accurate planning of a variety of activities by which goal’s realization is more probable. The aim of the research was to evaluate the impact of the implementation intention technique on motivational and behavioral aspects of eating self- regulation among obese people. Material/Methods: A total of 100 obese people, abiding by a slimming program organized in an obesity clinic in Olsztyn in Poland, participated in the research. In the experimental group an implementation intentions technique for eating habit were applied. The impact of the applied method on motivational and behavioral aspects of eating self-regulation were verified through participants’ answers to the Goal’s Survey and through the tested subjects’ propensity for selecting high-calorie foods. The Goal Survey was developed solely for the purposes of this study. Results: Members of the exp...
