(2018). Community Engaged Educators Confront Traumatic History.
A two day trip to Montgomery, Alabama where 14 invited educators (social studies teachers, school counselors, faculty, and doctoral students) visited newly opened Legacy Museum and Memorial to Peace and Justice. One afternoon and evening was spent visiting these memorial sites devoted to slavery, mass incarceration, and racial violence. The next morning, we hosted a 2 hour dialogue session in which all participants processed their thoughts in relation to these spaces of public pedagogy.
