Indonesia Power as a large power generating company which requires a robust, systematic and comprehensive efficiency management system to achieve high power plant thermal efficiency. The Efficiency Management system then developed from well proven concepts blended and integrated with the corporate Asset Management system to create holistic value to the corporate business process and provides guidelines in managing day-today activities in the power plant to improve the power plant thermal efficiency. The methodology of the system is closed loop work process from the monitoring of a set of power plant critical parameters by the operator, analysis and recommendation by the engineering team which then systematically executed by the operation and maintenance team. The parameter is continuously monitored and corrective action is taken to reduce the power plant performance gaps into best achievable performance. The Efficiency Management System provides the guideline of performance monitoring, procedure of validation and data interpretation, determination critical parameter, analysis of performance gaps, define corrective action, performance test of power plant performance and control of power plant thermal efficiency. A critical aspect in the system is acculturation process throughout all stakeholder of thermal efficiency, which results in thermal efficiency improvement culture. The system developed successfully implemented and gave great benefit to the integrated business process, and ultimately results in highly maintained power plant efficiency. The Efficiency Management System developed and implemented is proved to successfully improve power plant thermal efficiency ranging from 2% – 5% as well as establishing good culture and collaboration between the stakeholder.
