It offers abundant benefits and poses various challenges to learners and teachers alike. Some of these challenges represent the extent to which students are willing to take part in these classes, and how instructors and teachers can help them increase their motivation and develop positive attitudes towards their distant classes, the teachers and the course at large. In this context, this study empirically examines Moroccan students' motivation for and attitudes towards online learning, and seeks to find practical techniques to improve their level of motivation and gain constructive perceptions of e-learning at large. The study adopts a predominantly quantitative method that makes use of 89online questionnaires distributed to students from the Faculty of Languages and Arts in Ibn Tofail University. The findings revealed that the majority of students hold negative attitudes towards distant learning, which makes them lose motivation for these classes.

It investigates the incorporation of humour in the classroom and how it can facilitate and create pertinent conditions for learning and teaching. It probes students' attitudes towards their teachers' humour, and whether they consider it a learning aid or not. The study used a quasi-experiment that involved two tests and two groups of students: a treatment group and a control one. The pre-test and post-test results and findings revealed that humour facilitates learning and teaching by reducing anxiety, increasing motivation, encouraging participation, boosting concentration and improving retention.

An overall number of thirty students from two fields of study (Math Sciences and Economics) participated in the study, producing a total number of thirty essays. Students’ application of cohesion and coherence were studied and analyzed based on Halliday and Hasan’s Cohesion in English (1976) and Oshima and Hogue’s (2006) criteria for achieving coherence. Regarding the analysis of the corpus, it was discovered that students tend to use more reference ties, followed by lexical ties and conjunctions. Substitution and ellipsis linkers were scarcely used. Besides, the results clarify that Math Sciences Students outweigh their Economics counterparts in using and dealing with cohesion devices. As for coherence, the findings show slight differences between the two groups of upper high school students in adhering to coherence techniques. Finally, the study reveals that students lack important training in using and varying cohesion and coherence linkers.

Specifically, it examines the influence of anxiety on EFL learning. It examines students’ speaking and test anxieties, and whether it prevents them from engaging in classroom communication activities or not. The study was carried out in a Moroccan EFL classroom. Twenty students participated in the study. They answered a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire that gathered data about the target phenomenon. The results showed that students’ level and feeling of anxiety differed from an educational and instructional situation to another. They also showed that most Moroccan EFL students have low anxiety levels and feelings towards English because their attitudes towards it are generally positive.
