Association for Women in Science 2017 - “Creating Change” - Presented. This talk used Old Norse, Runes
and the subject of knowledge to highlight changes in an institution regarding the LGBTI+ community.

Class seminar for HIST748 Medieval Women
This talk discussed the concept of marriage relations in the Viking Age, and the changes from its ending to
the 16th Century.

EXPERIENCE
WORKSHOP INSTRUCTOR, TUĀKANA PROGRAMME — 2015-2016
Group workshops in the fields of Runic Fuþark and Old Norse; Modern Icelandic, Ancient Egyptian History
and Exam prep/Essay writing for students of Undergraduate levels (all stages).
Results: All my students have completed their courses with A grades.
GOVERNANCE BOARD MEMBER AUSA QUEER RIGHTS OFFICER— 2016
L A R A R O M S DA L
Duties consist of: running Queer Space, planning and executing Project initiatives on the Governance Board,
liaising with Faculty and club groups (i.e. Rainbow Arts, UniQ), and personnel in ensuring that Queer staff
and students are protected, their voices heard and that initiative is realised.
Leader in Projects include: Co-ordinating Tuākana Queer Division, Visibility and anti-Discrimination Campaign (across campuses), pastoral support. Also, inclusive use and environment for Te Reõ in Equity (including LGBTI+ areas) and Changing Gender Markers on Birth Certificates pairing with Rainbow Law.
Results: Birth Certificate marker program initiated; University of Chile has a new Equity programme; Equity
Office now has 40% more Te Rēo in their publications; QueerSpace is now incident-free.
VICE PRESIDENT UNIQ — 2013-2016
Liaising with other executive members on decisions and accords. Driving projects forward and determining
initiatives. Maintaining club business, attending and facilitating events.
Tasked with organising weekly events for the Queer social group on Campus (UoA). This included: booking
rooms, rendezvous with other co-ordinators, brainstorming and facilitating the events.
Results: membership has risen by 60%.
ToC (NGO) — Present
ToC is a problem-solving focused group which continues development and security on campus for Trans
students and staff. Pushing the University’s Equity sectors, ToC works across campuses and infrastructure
working alongside both Vice-Chancellor and Pro Vice- Chancellor with the Equity Office towards
implementing positive awareness and change, with regards to policy changes, security, awareness and
education and well- being within the university.
Results included: Payment by the University for all Trans-identified students for name change; passport; degree re-prints and Driver’s Licences.
