Okechukwu Ogah

Dr Okechukwu Ogah is a Senior Lecturer / Consultant physician/Cardiologist at University of Ibadan/ the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria as well as Bernard Lown visiting scholar at the Department of Global Health and Population, TH Chan Harvard School of Public Health, Boston, USA. His areas of interest include Clinical Medicine/ Cardiology, hypertension and hypertensive heart disease, heart failure, Cardiovascular epidemiology, population health and disease registries.  He obtained his basic medical education (MBBS) from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. His postgraduate residency training in Medicine/Cardiology was in Nigeria, United Kingdom and Germany.  He has had higher training in Epidemiology, Medical statistics, Bioethics and Global Health and PhD in Medicine.  He has participated in several global, continental and national research projects, in most of which he was the national co-ordinator/site PI  He is the national co-ordinator of the Nigeria National heart failure registry.Dr Ogah teaches and examines undergraduate and postgraduate student in and outside Nigeria. Between 2010 and 2015, he was the Commissioner for heath in Abia state of Nigeria. He is the current President of the Nigerian Cardiac Society. He has authored/ co-authored over 170 publications in local and international peer review journals.
