Around 53% of animal protein need for Malaysian is fulfilled with chicken meat and eggs. This project domain area is broiler chicken. Broiler highly demanded by the poultry farm industry because it has many advantages, such as: short time of chicken growth, high turnover rate as well as high market demand of chicken meat. The goals of this project development is to have a system that can detect the growth rate of chicken based on the user’s input. The knowledge acquisition process is completed with a guidance from an expert in the domain area. The expert that is involved in this project’s knowledge acquisition is Mr. Harris Irman, a chicken farmer and breeder. During the system designing process, the system flow chart, archictecture and interface is created. Then the architecture development process where the system is completed. Chicken growth rate monitoring system using Fuzzy Expert System will help the farmer in producing chickens with normal growth rate. Fuzzy expert system is implemented in this project because it is more suitable to determine the growth rate of chicken based on the several factors. Mamdani-style inferences are used in the fuzzy expert system because it is well suited for mathematical analysis. The benefit of having this system is that it can help the users of this system to monitor the growth of chicken in the farm. The result of the growth rate will then be used as the new input to suggest action that the farmer should take. The prototype for this project will be in the form of a web-based prototype.
