I've been doing this for years. I don't "interview" people, and firmly believe you get the best out of someone who feels comfortable and safe with you. Nothing replaces a conversation to help build that atmosphere between you as a host and your guest. You'll get a much more engaging piece of content afterwards for a quick chat beforehand.

The best way to adapt style is practice. Do as much public speaking as you can. I was awful at it, terrified. That will halt any consideration of style you might have. So first get a feel for being in the scenario and then allow yourself room to explore what suits you. Far too much emphasis is placed on the audience here.

Whilst I don't disagree with the points here, it ignores one important point. Choose a format which suits you! If you're not comfortable and confident it doesn't matter what your message is, you won't convey it. Presenting is as much about creating an environment you feel able to operate as anything else. Too many people add elements to a presentation that derail them, because they think they should. Just find a way to be you.

I mean I hope that's fairly self-evident stuff... The one things I'd say is our opinions change, as does our style. People can get too concerned with a piece not being perfect, not being reflective of what you want to say. We used to say today's news is tomorrow's fish-wrapping paper. Allow yourself the freedom to evolve by writing/posting and experimenting. There is a degree of that needed to find your voice, and that voice will change over time. That's authentic!

Ok, so doing this in isolation looks like the behaviour of a sociopath. The best (and in my opinion, the only) way to do this is by acknowledging the role of other people in your successes. Who helped you reach your targets? Funnily enough, bringing other people into that narrative also validates it's authenticity. Win-win.

Ok so I agree with other comments here. Matthew (whilst being subversive and funny) is on the money. I don't think you build 'genuine relationships' online. However, stating relationships should effectively be worked at is key! I am often asked to help share/promote articles and content. If it's an organization or person you know and trust, and you can lend your voice to their platform or whatever... do it. Social media is at it's worst when it's an echo-chamber. Don't just post and expect people to take notice. Support your friends in a positive fashion. Basically do what you'd do offline.
