Gastronomy has become one of the most dynamic segments on the international tourism scene. Gastronomic tourism begins to be viewed as a phenomenon as a new tourist product itself, due to the fact that more than one third of the expenses in the tourist offer of the destination are made food. This shows the importance of gastronomy in the quality of leisure experience. Gastronomic tourism gains more and more importance as motivating the future in choosing the holiday destination. Proof of this is that, according to recent research (Euromonitor, 2018), eating in restaurants is the second favourite activity for international athletes visiting the US and occupying the first place for tourists from North America in their recreational trips to other countries. for these reasons, we developed a questionnaire that was applied to a total of 234 respondents, but randomly among the visitors at the Tourism Fair, which was dashed in November 2017 in Bucharest. The survey aimed at identifying the position of the fish and the gastronomy occupied in the motivation of the tourists to visit Sibiu and the surrounding areas. The results revealed that the traditional gastronomy, through its multicultural aspect, represents the second or third op visiting Sibiu. Certainly, this will become even more visible, given the designation for 2019 of Sibiu as a European gastronomic region.

Professionals in the tourism sector assume most of the time, almost like a dogma of faith that tourism manages to piece itself back together in a matter of a few years after a catastrophe of all manner and sizes. As long as the proper safety measures are taken, tourists will continue to travel and the travel market will continue to grow.

They are used in different combinations and formulas and the targeted result are the same every time - determining the degree of climatic comfort for the touristic activities' participants, and the main types of topo climates, favourable or less favourable for performing touristic activities or human activities in general.

The street food sector offers to the guests various dishes and drinks prepared at the place of sale or only marketed by itinerant merchants or by vendors with stationary carts, either on the streets or in other public places that may be of interest for tourists. Fast food is generally associated with globalization, so present in high income per capita countries. The aim of the paper is to analyze the extent to which large, established cultural events converge to the tourism development of an entire area. The object of the research is to provide an economic and social analysis of the Sibiu tourism industry during the festival, compared to the average of the tourist season, i.e. the period from May to September. The aim of the paper does not consist in a mere display of economic results, which is well above average; it explores the correlations and ways in which the development of festival culture inevitably leads to organic tourism development. Hence, the final part of the paper offers a good practice model, one which can be successfully "franchised" to other cities of Romania.

In 2018, the Ministry of Tourism elaborated a project to set up the Destination Management Organization (MDG) to promote Romania's tourist destinations. The basic argument of this concept is the...
