However, despite their great importance, they face considerable challenges in terms of innovation and development (R&D), their limited financial resources, the lack of adequate machinery and personnel have made them highly vulnerable to internal and external market factors. On the other hand, at present it seeks to replace the current (linear) economic model with a more sustainable one such as the circular economic model, whose focus on plastics offers a vision where this material never becomes waste, but rather acquires the possibility of be transformed and implemented as raw material. Taking into account the above approaches and contributing to the topic, it was proposed to use a simulation model applied to the case study of a micro-company dedicated to the manufacture of plastic products, the purpose of this model is to provide information to the company to consider the factors that influence their performance and allow them to reduce the costs associated with production and waste. The results of the simulation model supported the company's decision-making regarding its production processes (including elements of the so-called Industry 4.0).

This healthcare is offered in the North and South of Mexico City while students are sitting their exams for admission to the National Autonomous University of Mexico. This study presents an optimization of the routes of an ambulance in charge of serving 26 security modules installed at schools where students were attending their admission exams. This optimization is done on the basis based on algorithms used to solve the travelling-salesman problem (TSP) and simulation is used to determine the scenarios where calls for the ambulance happen with a greater occurrence probability. Furthermore, the patient´s transfer route from the hospital care module is optimized with the shortest path algorithm. The prehospital healthcare system is formed by 11 paramedics and 5 properly equipped ambulances. Heuristic techniques were programmed with the Visual Basic 6 programming language and the simulation was executed using the Arena program.

This study is important since it will give us information about the system that is not yet known, it will help us to correctly identify risks to minimize them, as well as delays in the lines, make improvements to the system, have an adequate planning, establish different policies to improve and satisfy the system needs. Tools such as simulation will be used to create scenarios and search for alternatives for improvement in the system, as well as, where appropriate, other tools such as optimization will be used. This paper uses different techniques such as Complex Networks Methodology, Statistics, Simulation and Risk Analysis.

Vouchers from a retail store were analyzed using the complex networks approach. The catalog consists of 272 products; On average, a product is related to 10 other articles. From the modularity, 39 item families were identified, from these, 2 examples of offers with items that can be purchased together are shown. The sales form a "small-world" network ordered around three relevant products. His network has reached a state where the probability of a product establishing new connections is minimal. The results were compared with the ABC inventory classification system; the result shows a classification that complements the analysis and management of an inventory.Las empresas, tiendas y negocios generan grandes cantidades de comprobantes de pago y con frecuencia son la única fuente de información sobre la forma en que se...

Authorities are designing new policies for public transport. The first restrictions include the close of different metro stations to ensure the social distance, avoid excess of passengers and reduce the demand, which also changes the metro system and the way it operates. In this paper a model is presented, based on the analysis and comparison of the Mexico’s City Metro System as a total network as well as the network with stations that are closed due to COVID-19. Using complex networks will give to the population information about the connectivity, efficiency and robustness of the system, in order to be able to make improvements, have adequate planning, set up different policies to improve and meet the needs of the system after COVID-19.

In Mexico, small companies were the first to produce e-bikes; however, this sector faces the lack of theoretical tools for the design and implementation of their manufacturing systems. The purpose of this study was to develop a simulation model of an e-bike manufacturing system that maximises the system productivity. The model was developed using the DES methodology proposed by Jerry Banks and was implemented in Anylogic TM software. The design and analysis of experiments was performed using Minitab ® software. The simulation time was defined according to the user, so the working time was 160 hours per month, producing a daily unit. The results indicated that the maximum system productivity was 300 units per year. The best times achieved were: 2.35 units per hour, for the material flow, for welding 1 h, for the turning process 0.58 h and finally for the electrical assembly 0.66 h.

The traffic congestion impacts directly on the quality of life, however due to government policies that have encouraged the use of private transport, citizens prefer to use it instead of the public transport network. Nevertheless, public transport network offers a poor service. The aim of this study is to carry out a diagnosis about the public transport network in Mexico City by proposing a pertinent theoretical tool to optimize its operations on a daily basis. First, we present the official statistics about urbanization of Mexico City. Then, we present the official statistics about mobility. After that, we describe the components of the Mexico City public transport network. Finally, we propose a methodology to optimize operational aspects.

Analyzing and simulating with the outcoming networks parameters can be obtained the vulnerability and robustness of system's network, assisting the developing of economic policies. In present work we built up an economic weighted directed network between the catalogued labors, the productive sub-sectors, based on 4-digits NAICS-2018, and the eight common household expenses. Weighting edges with total household incomes and total amount paid for each expense. The network is constructed with a sample size of more than one hundred-thirty thousand households. With complex network metrics and adding an inflation rate to each main Expense category, the simulation was performed obtaining key economic properties such as wealth distribution per household and sectors vulnerabilities as well as system robustness.

This causes that airports may require an efficient organization to serve both, the companies that use the facilities and the passengers. In addition, it is important to consider that the amount of information that is generated may not be easy to analyze, sometimes because the managers don ́t know all the information that they have or they don ́t know how much this information can help the business. Therefore, in this work, we perform an analysis of the information obtained from some national and international airports of the Mexican Republic, using the methodology of Complex Networks. Also, with the results obtained, we will seek to put forward improvements in the service of this type of facilities, and the infrastructure.
