Joseph Osei
Born at Kokofu, a historic town in Ashanti, Ghana, West Africa, Dr. Joseph Osei is a Full Professor of Philosophy & Religion at Fayetteville State University/UNC. He earned his PhD in Philosophy from The Ohio State University in 1991, having earned his M.A. in Philosophy at Ohio University (Athens) in 1986 and his B.A.hons in Philosophy and Religion at The University of Ghana, Legon, in 1981. Professor Osei is also an ordained minister of the Methodist Church Ghana trained at the Trinity Theological Seminary with a 1st Class 3-year Certificate in Theological Studies. His publications include at least 5 books, 8 book chapters, and dozens of refereed journal articles on democracy, human rights, Christian ethics, social justice, development ethics, political violence, and peace etc.
