Thus, expert knowledge should be implicitly embedded into design of SG and training simulations.

Its basic claim is that competence development is a process with distinct stages, and that the assessment forms and the roles taken on by those involved in the process depend on the stage in which learning occurs. More specifically, as a learner starts with competence development, self-assessment will be the most prominent, if not the only, form of assessment.

Both the repository and the community are developed in the frame of the European project Share. TEC. Some approaches for endowing digital libraries with adaptability capabilities in order to scaffold and enhance end user experience are examined.

Remote sensing methods and GIS technologies make it possible to identify the areas with strongest manifestation of landslide processes and determine their spatial parameters.

First, we will discuss briefly recent studies, related to teacher educators (TE), who shows TE confusion among the sea of learning resources, published in various specialized digital libraries or repositories. TE share their need for an environment that easily adapts to their profiles while they save time when searching for educational resources and ensure effective detection of specific ones.

Cycle 1 pilots are framed in two different domains: Digital Cinema and ICT Teacher Training. Both pilots are preceded by two preliminary experiences, which are very useful for planning the actual cycle 1 implementation, deployment and evaluation.

The instructional design is based on a learner-centred instructional strategy which allows learners to construct their own knowledge while solving real business problems and transferring their knowledge to other learners. They learn autonomously taking the responsibility for their learning and following their individual cognitive styles, interests, preferences.

The tool library is currently available as a beta release, aiming to gather data about reusing and adapting learning resources. The tool library prototype is analysed in this deliverable in terms of the available functionality and data. In particular, a walkthrough guide is provided, explaining what the user can do with the current version of the tool library.

We show how one particular methodology for teaching and training soft skills can be further enhanced by the use of ICT. We show how the use of Learning Design centred software platform for lifelong competence development can enhance the in-service training of teachers.

The authors' provide arguments in support of the belief that the school should be oriented to building competences identified as crucial for the citizens in a knowledge/creativity-based society.

One way of managing that complexity is to use the rule “divide and conquer”. This is the reason for making small tools supporting work of precisely targeted audiences like assessment designers, students, authors, stakeholders, decision makers and so on.
