The aim of this work was to assess chemical, physical and biological SQ indicators that maximize wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) yield, and to determine which are the most important in soils under no tillage in the southwest of Buenos Aires Pampas. In 2010 and 2011, 57 farmer fields sown with wheat under no tillage and located in the semiarid region (RAS) and sub-humid (RSH) region, were sampled at 0-20 cm. The principal component analysis (PC) was used to detect indicators that affected wheat yield, using chemical, physical and biological indicators. The CP analysis explained 75 and 87% of the total wheat yield variability for RAS and RSH, respectively. In RAS, the most important variables were COT, Nt, COPf, CHt and CHs from CP1; N-MOP from CP2; Pe and Npm from CP3. For RSH, the most important variables selected as indicators were: Pe from CP1; COPg f...

Extractable P, microbial activity and acid phosphatase activity presented a great stratification in all evaluated sites and years, which could affect P availability. Also, in 10-20 cm there were limitations in aeration porosity, which could affect the crop accessibility to soil P. These factors would explain the high response to phosphoric fertilization in soils under SD where P values were above sufficiency levels.

First, plots of a long‐term tillage experiment on a Luvic Phaeozem initiated in 1986 were split into two subplots in 2012, yielding four treatments: NT, CT, NTn and CTn. In 2015, composite soil samples were collected from each treatment and from a natural site (Ref) at depths 0–5, 5–10, 10–20 and 0–20 cm. Several indicators were determined: soil organic carbon (SOC) and nitrogen (SON); particulate organic C (POM‐C) and N (POM‐N); potential N mineralization (PMN) and soil respiration (Rs). Moreover, bulk density was determined in long‐term tillage systems. Different ratios between indicators were calculated, with emphasis on its function in the agroecosystem, that is functional indicators. Significant differences in SOC, ...

We propose a procedure based on dynamic programming coupled with piecewise polynomial approximation to compute the value of a given option, at all observation dates and levels of the state vector. The method can be used for the large GARCH family of models based on Gaussian innovations and may accommodate all low-dimensional European as well as American derivatives. Numerical implementations show that this method competes very advantageously with other available valuation methods.
