Secondly to the forgotten sister of peasant stock in Valtellina, where Turkish shamans went, a woman who could speak ancient languages. Thirdly to Betilka Kainč, first sister companion of Mother Theresa; she took for herself the name Mary Magdalene. Abstract In the canonical Gospels we find women interacting with Jesus in a special way. We

Plato provides a detailed description of this island. We show that Plato's description is very close to the one given by Bartolomè de las Casas, a friar who visited the island not long after it was conquered by Columbus, when the local population was being destroyed by the Spanish occupants.

Richter deemed her superior to himself in technique and Neuhaus superior to himself in interpretation. She did not like communism and spoke her mind freely. She had no fix job. Once after the war Stalin heard her play Mozart K488 and was so fascinated that he ordered a registration of the concert; after listening to it he sent her 20.000 rubles. She replied in a letter: Dear.... thanks... every day I pray God to pardon you for your immense sins agains Russia and the Russian people. ... Stalin read and said nothing. When he was found on the floor of his dacia after a stroke, it was noticed that Judina K488 was the last piece he has listened to.

We show that there exists a better alignment with certain three volcanos in Mars. Such volcanos were visible from Earth between 7000 and 700 BC. In that period, following ideas of Patten, Ackerman and this author, Mars approached our planet every 54 years. Our proposal is supported by the etymon of the word pyramid and by the existence of 54 niches, 27 on each side, along the stairs of the Great Gallery in Cheops pyramid.

Numerical experiments indicate fast local convergence, but also substantial difficulties of global convergence.

Properties of termination and of optimal conditioning of this class are studied. Extensive numerical experiments compare particular algorithms and show the superiority of two recently proposed methods.

We analyze the convergence properties, showing that under the usual assumptions on the function and some mild assumptions on the free parameters available in the class, the algorithm is locally convergent and has a superlinear rate of convergence (per major iteration, which is computationally comparable to a single Newton's step). Some particular algorithms satisfying the conditions on the free parameters are considered.
A large number of implementations of the symmetric algorithm in the ABS class for linear systems ... more A large number of implementations of the symmetric algorithm in the ABS class for linear systems are compared on a set of ill-conditioned test problems, together with implementations of the modified Gbam-Schmidt, the Hestenes-Stiefei, and the QR algorithms. The results indicate the superiority of two particular implementations of the symmetric algorithm, which outperform both the modified Guam-Schmidt and the Hestenes-Sttefel algorithm and in most cases are superior in terms of accuracy to the QR algorithm.
