The present study is part of a broader interdisciplinary research and follows the gender perspective, which has made it possible to bring a focus on the pandemic starting with women who, within family dynamics, have suffered most from the effects of the lockdown, having to manage multiple roles simultaneously and in the same place. The data were collected through an on-line survey. The aim is to understand how family routines were structured during the lockdown and how women’s emotional regulation developed during this period. Moreover, a further area of investigation focused on the distribution of domestic work and childcare among partners and on the relationships between smart working and the family dimension. The participants are 300 women living in different Italian region. The data highlights how during lockdown women with children have more regulatory and relational routines than women wit...

The relationship between filiation and parenting calls in play the ties between social construction and ideology of kinship and its normative determination. Through the analysis of two sentences on lesbian and gay parenting, we analyze the way in which the request for the legal recognition of homoparenting produces a circulation of cultural, symbolic and scientific references between society and the courts. These judgments call in play the legal relationships and the actions of the subjects capable of producing new legal regulations and new representations of family, parenting and filiation ties.

In this practice, procreative will has a very high value and prevails over gametes and gestation. The surrogacy has a huge spread all over the world. More and more people are resorting to surrogacy for having children and forming a family to the detriment of other forms of parenting such as national and international adoption. The article focuses particularly on surrogacy for homosexual people, which has become one of the main reasons for reflection or breaking of the international feminist movements. The opportunity to compare the debates about this issue that have developed in three different national contexts - Mexico, Spain and Italy - allows for a broad reflection of how surrogacy is not a homogeneous phenomenon, but an interweaving of questions and discourse regimes into which current debates on feminism, maternal function and self-determination ...

This essay analyses the way in which extraneousness-otherness are embodied in the kinning of the mixed couples involved. The paper is divided into two sections; in the first, we will discuss how the kinning process related to migratory regimes acts as a device for the differentiation of family and national belonging; in the second, we will analyse the family mixedness in action in the kinning process of mixed family particularly of Italian-Moroccan families. This section will be focused especially how different attitudes and ways of dealing with the visible somatic trace of the child born in mixed family are part of kining process.

In this context, many people found themselves in great difficulty, not only because of the fear of contagion or the economic problems deriving from the closure of production activities but also because the virus profoundly changed the way of life in society. The “Social distancing” concept became central in all personal relationships, including close family relationships. In this situation, our paper seeks to understand the role of spirituality and religiosity in reacting to this difficult situation and in particular on the physical and psychological health of the people involved. The data we present here are part of a multidisciplinary research with a quantitative theoretical framework. As the data was collected during the first Italian lockdown, a total of 1,250 adults from all over Italy participated in ...

The socio-sanitary rules imposed by the government concerned the social distance and management of intimate relationships, the sense of individual responsibility toward public health. Physical distancing and housing isolation have produced new representations of intrafamily, generational, neighborhood, community responsibility, bringing out a new “medicalized dimension” of society. In light of this contextual framework, the research aims are to analyze how: the perception of individual responsibility for public and familial health and physical distancing has redrawn the relation between subjects-family-community; the State's technical-health intervention has reformulated the idea of social closeness, but also how the pandemic fear and social confinement has re-evaluated a desire for community, neighborhood, proximity; during the lockdown families, friends, neighbors have reconstruct...

I risultati mostrano come benché la donna cont...

The deconstruction of kinship as " a natural fact " has definitely questioned and challenged the genealogical dimension of kinship, which was traditionally based on the link between heterosexuality and procreation. The first part of this paper briefly reconstructs the new theories toward Euro-American kinship perceptions in anthropology. The focus is on the changes resulting from new assisted reproduction techniques, low fertility in relation to changes in genealogical space; and finally, issues relating to biopolitics. In the second part, starting from the ethnographic work that proponents have been conducting for years on homo-parental (same sex) families in Italy, the paper explores the way in which " new forms of family &quo...

Despite the tendency to choose a foreign spouse, the Italian society continues to look at this marriage ambivalently. Based on ethnographic research on the Italian-Moroccan families, the article specifically address the issues related to the divorce. Thanks to research data it will be possible to highlight how the different positions of the subjects in the conflict produces a different narrative and reconstruction of family and couples crisis and of divorce also we will see how the gender difference produces a different conceptualization of conflict and of divorce.

First, this article focuses on the central role played by the private life in claiming citizenship rights and in building a sense of belonging within migratory contexts. As a result, mixed couples become a border zone through which the state disciplines immigrants according to their class, nationality and gender. On the other side, mixed couples and their intimate lives define resistance against the state’s biopolitical power to control people and become the space of intimate citizenship. Second, the article analyses the matrix for immigrants’ exclusion and differentiation embodied within the institutional and legislative system through immigration and citizenship laws. Therefore, the ‘coloniality power matrix’ becomes an active component of the naturalisation system of social differences at an institutional level.
