Alessio Coletta
I obtained a MA Degree in Comparative Literatures and Cultures (English and Japanese) from the University of Naples "L'Orientale". My MA thesis focused on the functions of food and the environment in the literary works of Yoshimoto Banana, Ogawa Ito and Nashiki Kaho, and I wrote it under the supervision of Prof. Gala Maria Follaco and the co-supervision of Prof. Giorgio Amitrano.
In the AY 2023-2024 I completed the SKP program (Regular Courses in Japanese Track) at Ritsumeikan University (Graduate School of Letters) and I focused my research on Japanese linguistics - the main topic being the grammaticalization of "mono" as a final particle in contemporary Japanese - under the supervision of professor Okazaki Tomoko (graduate course of Japanese linguistics).
My research field is Japanese historical linguistics and pragmatics, with a focus on the phenomenon of grammaticalization both from a synchronic and diachronic perspective.
