Some of which include the provision of buildings, streets, tunnels etc. The change in climate is one of the many challenges in this dispensation which requires that techniques and strategies should be developed for the purpose of efficient energy supply. This brings into light the need to design methods for the calculation of energy use in buildings. A few empirical research has been conducted concerning the study of the causal links between urban growth and the consumption of electricity in the specific case of Ghana. It has been found out that the insulation of walls and ceiling has the tendency to reduce building energy consumption by 70-80% and 65% respectively, as compared to a building of the same type and material but without insulation. The climatic condition of Ghana is such that the south-western part is hot and humid and the northern part experiences a hot and dry climate and has a warm eastern coastal belt....

But it is also observed that modifications in strength & quality and the growth and decay of Bio-film growth often results in prominent variations in internal resistance values for the Microbial Fuel cell for set time period. This often ends up with a low output power which is a result of the mis-match of internal and external resistances of the cell. Our research shows the performance study of Microbial Fuel Cell having periodic connection of the electrical load (Rext). Study shows that efficiency of the Fuel Cell is improved as the cells are operated with external resistances, the Rext is fixed such that it is below Rint. We have compared the power outputs as well which were found by utilising of either resistances connected of fixed values.

In order to live well, there is an increasing demand for adequate infrastructure. People are migrating from rural to urban regions. Problems will rise due to the high population in urban areas. Due to a lack of available land for construction in metropolitan areas, high-rise building structures are becoming more necessary to address the population density issue. High-rise structures are in high demand, and their construction must be completed without compromising any of the three criteria of cost, timeliness, and safety. AutoCAD design software enables the production of both 2D and 3D drawings for use in constructing multi-story buildings. This study aims to utilize the software package STAAD-Pro to analyze and design a multi-story building, following the production of 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD. STAAD-Pro offers a far quicker method of structural analysis and planning for the likelihood of the fewest faults. The design involves load calculations and analyzing the whole structure by STAAD Pro. "The method used in STAAD Pro analysis is Limit State Design followed by Indian Standard Codes. The loads considered for designing the building are dead loads, live loads, and Wind loads. For analyzing a multi-storied building, one has to consider all the possible loadings and see that the structure is safe against all possible loading conditions" [2]. The aim of this study is to analyze the structural behavior of the building and ensure that it meets the necessary design standards and codes. To remain competitive in the constantly expanding market, it is crucial for structural engineers to optimize their time management. This study highlights the importance of using advanced software tools in the design and analysis of complex structures to ensure their safety and stability.

This research delves into the effects of incorporating rice husk (RH) and metakaolin (MK) as supplementary materials in geopolymer concrete, with the goal of enhancing its properties and sustainability while making productive use of industrial by-products. The research commences with a comprehensive characterization of the raw materials, including rice husk ash (RHA) and metakaolin, via physical, chemical, and mineralogical analyses. Different combinations of RH and MK are then blended with an alkali activator solution to formulate geopolymer paste mixtures. The findings of this study reveal that the incorporation of RH and MK as partial substitutes for conventional materials in geopolymer concrete yields positive effects on its performance. The utilization of rice husk ash enhances workability and reduces the alkaline activation time of the geopolymer paste, leading to improved early-age strength development. This study demonstrates that the synergistic use of rice husk and metakaolin in geopolymer concrete promotes a more sustainable construction material with a diminished environmental impact. It offers valuable potential to guide engineers, researchers, and industry professionals in adopting sustainable and cost-effective strategies for enhancing the properties of geopolymer concrete, thus fostering its wider adoption in the construction sector.

The primary difference between conventional concrete and high performance concrete is the use of mineral and chemical admixtures. High Performance Densified Small Particle-Based Concrete is a concrete which is obtained by using high quantities of superplasticizers and high volumes of micro silica. It ensures proper filling and good structural performance. In general, when fibers are added to concrete, tensile strain of the fiber improves significantly. This in turn improves cracking behavior, ductility and energy absorption capacity of composites in addition to durability. This work outlines investigation on the Strength properties of Densified Small Particles based Concrete of grade M70 with brass coated straight steel fibers. The Compressive, Flexural and Split Tensile strength tests for different percentage of steel fibers i.e. 0, 3, 6, 9 and 12% by weight of cementitious material were performed at 7, 14 and 28 days. The investigations show that, the Compressive, Flexural and Split Tensile Strength at 9% steel fibres are higher. With increase in steel fibre percentage from 9% to 12% there is no appreciable increase in Compressive strength, Flexural strength as well as in Split tensile strength. From 9% to 12% concrete is not workable and hence 9% is considered as optimized value.
