Con questo elaborato si esamina la situazione della minoranza ungherese che dopo il Trattato del ... more Con questo elaborato si esamina la situazione della minoranza ungherese che dopo il Trattato del Trianon del 1920, conseguente alla dissoluzione dell’impero Austro-ungarico, venne distribuita tra Slovacchia, Romania e Vojvodina; con la Repubblica Slovacca la minoranza magiara incontrò numerosi problemi nel corso degli anni, situazione che perdura tutt’ora. Si ripercorrono cronologicamente gli eventi storico-politici che hanno avuto luogo sino alle ultime elezioni politiche ungheresi e slovacche – dal secondo dopoguerra e dall’azione comune contro il “nemico” sovietico alla ricostruzione di un’identità ed un’economia post blocco orientale, dalla scissione cecoslovacca e dalla morte del Patto di Varsavia alla nascita del gruppo Visegrád, dalla membership a NATO ed Unione Europea alle (contestate) politiche comunitarie per la gestione dei migranti – sottolineando anche il ruolo che istituzioni internazionali come Unione Europea e NATO hanno avuto nel corso degli anni dal secondo dopoguerra in poi; in conclusione, si può dedurre che la situazione di tensione è stata caratterizzata dalle decisioni politiche dei governi di entrambe le repubbliche che non sono riuscite ad ottenere risultati duraturi insieme al forte sentimento di appartenenza a ciascuna nazione, auspicando che le membership di istituzioni sovranazionali come NATO, Visegrád ed Unione Europea possano aiutare in futuro a gestire in modo permanente il rapporto tra le due nazioni europee tramite accordi bilaterali o trattati internazionali. Due testimonianze, infine, spiegano come ancora oggi siano vivi i sentimenti e l’attaccamento alla nazione nell’Europa Centro – orientale all’interno della cornice comunitaria europea, lasciando quindi in sospeso la domanda “è possibile davvero un’Europa unita?”.
