Introducción:la dieta con restricción de proteínas parece tener un papel importante en la progres... more Introducción:la dieta con restricción de proteínas parece tener un papel importante en la progresión de la enfermedad renal crónica (ERC) y la aparición anticipada de síntomas urémicos, además la suplementación de aminoácidos esenciales ofrece aparente seguridad para lograr restricciones agresivas de proteínas. Objetivo: realizar una revisión de la literatura para establecer las recomendaciones de uso práctico sobre la dieta con restricción de proteínas en la ERC avanzada. Materiales y métodos:se realizó una búsqueda estructurada rápida de la literatura en la que se incluyeron revisiones sistemáticas y metaanálisis, de los cuales se extrajeron las respuestas de las preguntas con estructura PICOT diseñadas a priori. Se ha encontrado que ciertas comorbilidades constituyen factores de riesgo para resultados poco satisfactorios de la enfermedad, pero es poco lo que se ha descrito sobre pacientes en hemodiálisis, a pesar de tratarse de una población de alto riesgo de infección, complicaciones y muerte.En este artículo se describe el curso clínico, las manifestaciones clínicas y las complicaciones de la COVID-19 en siete pacientes en hemodiálisis permanente y se hacen recomendaciones para el manejo de pacientes con enfermedad renal crónica.

Su diagnóstico clínico e imagenológico es complejo dado la similitud con lesiones benignas; sin embargo, su rápido crecimiento alerta sobre su comportamiento agresivo. La afectación renal en la amiloidosis sistémica es frecuente, por lo que se le asocia un pronóstico desfavorable, al ser la falla renal la segunda causa de muerte en los pacientes que la presentan. El objetivo de este trabajo consistió en presentar el caso de un hombre de 55 años, hipertenso de novo, con cuadro clinico de 7 meses de evolución de edema progresivo asociado a disnea, oliguria y hematuria, documentándose síndrome nefrótico en paraclínicos. Se considera que la prevalencia poblacional de la Nefritis Lúpica (NL) y la Glomerulonefritis pri... more Se considera que la prevalencia poblacional de la Nefritis Lúpica (NL) y la Glomerulonefritis primaria (GP), causas de la enfermedad crónica renal es de 19,3%. A pesar de la existencia de muchas publicaciones en Colombia y a nivel mundial, que describen el comportamiento clínico de NL y de GP; no existe un registro poblacional en el país que describa el comportamiento epidemiológico de los pacientes, lo cual impide conocer el verdadero impacto de éstas dos patologías en la salud pública.
