La protagonista, Cuca, se ocupa de consultoría. Su obsesión con el ascenso la lleva a comprar una muñeca con inteligencia artificial a la que enchufa un libro de autoayuda y la Biblia, así que la muñeca se convierte en socia de la empresa donde trabaja. Sin embargo, Cuca descubre que esta no es la vida que quiere realmente. El artículo reflexiona sobre el techo de cristal, el machismo y el patriarcado vigentes en ambientes de trabajo y sobre la utilidad del libro en el ámbito de la Medicina gráfica por lo que se refiere a la excesiva productividad y la obsesión con el trabajo y el éxito.
ENG: This article analyses the graphic novel Hecha a sí misma (2023) by Alicia Martín Santos. Cuca, the protagonist, is a consultant. Her obsession with obtaining a promotion makes her buy an AI doll to whom she plugs the Bible and a self-help book into, so that the doll manages to become a partner of the company she works in. Eventually, Cuca realises that this is not the life she actually wants. The article reflects on glass ceiling, sexism and patriarchy widespread in workplaces and on the usefulness of the book in the field of Graphic medicine as far as excess of productivity and obsession with work and success are concerned.
ESP: El presente artículo aborda el análisis de cuatro textos literarios que pertenecen a la lite... more ESP: El presente artículo aborda el análisis de cuatro textos literarios que pertenecen a la literatura castellana, catalana, gallega y vasca y tratan el tema del infanticidio, a partir de una reflexión sobre la figura de Medea. En particular se analizarán Intimidad, una de las escenas de la obra teatral Terror y miseria en el primer franquismo de José Sanchis Sinisterra, el monólogo La infanticida de Víctor Català, el poema Medea en Corinto de Luz Pozo Garza y la novela Las madres no de Katixa Agirre. El estudio se centra en la comparación entre las distintas razones que llevan al infanticidio, con particular atención a la figura de las madres en relación con la sociedad que las rodea.
ENG: The present article analyses four literary texts which belong to Castilian, Catalan, Galician, and Basque literature and deal with the topic of infanticide, starting from a consideration of the figure of Medea. In particular, we will analyse Intimidad, one of the scenes of the play Terror y miseria en el primer franquismo by José Sanchis Sinisterra, the monologue La infanticida by Víctor Català, the poem Medea en Corinto by Luz Pozo Garza and the novel Las madres no by Katixa Agirre. The study revolves around the comparison of the different reasons which can lead to infanticides, particularly focusing on the figures of the mothers related to the society in which they live in.
