Based on the Indonesian Disaster Information Data (DIBI) compiled by BNPB, there are considered to be 9053 events (37.5%) of the total natural disaster events in Indonesia. The flood disaster has threatened and disrupted people’s lives and even resulted in fatalities, environmental damage, property losses, and psychological impacts. Therefore several efforts of flood risk reduction are required. One of them is to develop a model to detect the depth of flood inundation. The purpose of this study is to apply the SHETRAN Model for flood inundation detection in the Progo Watershed. The SHETRAN model is a distributed hydrological model. The data required in this model are hydro-climatological data, including rainfall and evaporation, land use land cover, soil type, and topography data obtained from remote sensing. The results of this study indicate that in the range from 2001 to 2017, the maximum height of flood in...

Parameters observed are temperature, color, taste, odor, pH,DO (dissolved oxygen), BOD (biochemical oxygen demand) and COD (biochemical oxygen demand). The result showed that bamboo influence to the physical and chemical characteristic is smaller effect, except to the DO and COD parameters, it is polynomial change. The result of water quality showed that water to bamboo distribution is suitable used to drinking water resources.

One of the watersheds in Central Java is the Pemali Watershed, most of which are in Brebes Regency. According to the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), there were 57 floods in Brebes Regency in 1994 - 2019. Therefore, to predict the occurrence of a flood disaster, it is necessary to know how much changes in river flow rates in the Pemali watershed. The purpose of this study was to determine the flood discharge at the Pemali river. The streamflow used is the maximum daily streamflow in a year from 2001 to 2017. The method used is the SHETRAN hydrological model. The data used in the SHETRAN model are the data derived from satellite measurements, namely digital elevation model data, MODIS land use land cover, soil type from the Harmonization World Soil Database, rainfall from the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Missions, and evaporation ...

In this study, input data is in the form of daily rainfall data and potential evapotranspiration data. The output of calculated discharged is calibrated using observations of daily discharge data. This modeling optimizes four free parameters of the Maximum Capacity of Production Store (X 1), Groundwater Coefficient (X 2), Maximum Capacity of Routing Store (X 3), and Peak Time of Ordinate Unit Hydrograph (X 4). The optimum values of the modeling parameters of GR4J are obtained from the criterion of the smallest discrepancies between calculated and observed data, which are Nash-Sutcliffe Coefficient (NS), the correlation coefficient values and methods of Relative Volume Error (RVE). There are three stages in this modeling, namely: model calibration, model verification and model validation. Model calibration is carried out by using the fi...

One of them is in efforts to mitigate natural disasters. This research goal is analyzed the correlation between changes in land use land cover on the discharge in the river, in the range between 2001–2017. This research located at Brantas watershed, which is the largest watershed in East Java. It has an area of approximately 11,988 km2. There are 24 million people who occupy this area and this is one of the national strategic watersheds. SHETRAN is modeling that is based on physical distribution. Reviewing spatial aspects, hydrological and climate data makes SHETRAN is comprehensive model. The method used is to combine input data of the digital elevation model, evaporation rate, rainfall data, land use land cover data, and soil properties classified using the British system. The results obtained for land use, the biggest change is for the grass area which increased by 80.49%, the forest area increased by 22.37%. As for river ...

Man Kendal test is used to analyze the rainfall trend behaviour that will determine the happening of climate change or not in that area. The result of this research gave information that several places in Java might be impacted by climate change. This result is crucial to use as an early warning of areas that are sensitive to natural disasters that are most likely caused by climate change like a flood.

The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) noted that throughout 2017 there had been 2,862 disasters. Of these, almost 99 percent are hydrometeorological disasters, namely disasters that are affected by weather and surface flow. The details of the disaster include floods (979), tornadoes (886), landslides (848), forest and land fires (96), drought (19), earthquakes (20), tidal waves and abrasions (11), dam volcanic eruptions (3). The western part of Java Island includes three provinces namely West Java Province, DKI Jakarta Province, and Banten Province. Of the three provinces, they are no stranger to hearing floods, especially in the capital city of Jakarta and West Java. Flood problems until now have not been resolved completely even the problem of floods is the tendency to increase both in terms of intensity, frequency, and distribution due to climate change. Based on the above conditions, it is necessa...
