For some people, music can call forth visions of patterns of different color. Some manage to turn a low frequency chant into a vision of thousands of lotus blossoms, waiting to be counted. This brief note will concern itself with color combination, such as yellow and red and how it effects a person one way in contradistinction to purple and warm green effecting in an entirely different manner. It could just as well as be about musical harmony, however, gauged therein by consonance and dissonance.

Those who deal in real-time environments, however, have remained mostly unable to benefit from advances in technology through the use of so-called Open Systems. Open systems technology has yet to address issues beyond portable programming languages and standard system call interfaces. In this paper we investigate what additional elements are necessary to enable truly portable real-time systems development.

Real-time systems pose both unusual problems and unique opportunities in this area. This paper will explore specific modeling approaches for tying together the real world we are controlling, the devices we are using to monitor and control that environment, the internal representation of the environment and temporal relationships between discrete events within the environment and related control functions Part of this study will be the application of the proposed techniques to an hypothetical air traffic control system; we will provide examples of traditional process control environments as well.

Musical performers are fully aware of the capacity of such performative events to move listeners in very persuasive ways, yet one has avoided looking too closely at how it is done. One would rather think of the performer as filling the emotional needs of an audience in a completely colleagial and autonomic manner. By facing the reality of our bondage to the performative ethics of others, we begin to understand better the constructive ways in which we may use our craft to the betterment, and not simply the control, of others.

It's purpose is to derive major and minor axes corresponding to measurements of the form: Because a single tuple in the above form is not sufficient to describe the angle of conicity of the bore, two such tuples are required i.e. (d 1 , x 1 , y 1) (d 2 , x 2 , y 2). In the following diagram the second measurement tuple is closer to the wider end of the bore than the first. Figure 1: Bore Geometry d x y , (,) where d is the distance between the sides of the bore at either x or y x is the length into the bore when the distance is measured along a plane perpendicular to a line through the centre of the tone holes y is the length into the bore when the distance is measured along a plane parallel to a line through the centre of the tone holes x

I thought of contrib-uting a discussion on hautboy types. My main motive is to get feedback from the many knowledgeable people - it would be useful to me (and I hope to others) to hear what kinds of reactions these proposals might provoke
