Abstract

A simple digital pre-compensation technique for the pattern-dependent phase distortion in Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers is proposed for coherent QAM transmitters. The performance of the proposed compensator is experimentally evaluated in 40Gbps 16QAM systems.
