Nieves Sanz
Licenciada en Derecho por la Universidad de Salamanca (España), en ella desarrolló sus estudios de doctorado, que completó con diversas estancias de investigación en Italia y Centroamérica, doctorándose en Derecho Penal con Premio Extraordinario en el año 2000. En la actualidad, es Catedrática del Área de Derecho penal de dicha Universidad e imparte clases sobre Derecho penal, Criminología, Política criminal y Derecho penitenciario. Autora de 90 publicaciones, tiene reconocidos 3 sexenios de investigación y ha impartido más de tres centenares de conferencias y cursos en países como Argentina, Brasil, Costa Rica, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Italia, México, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Perú, Polonia, Portugal, República Dominicana y Venezuela, además de en diversas Universidades e Instituciones españolas, como la Escuela Nacional de Policía, donde es profesora desde hace dos décadas. Investigadora principal del Grupo de Investigación «Diversitas: Políticas públicas en defensa de la inclusión, la diversidad y el género» y Presidenta de la Red Iberoamericana de Política criminal, ha sido investida 3 veces como Doctora Honoris Causa, cuenta con la Medalla al Mérito Policial con distintivo blanco (2006) y ha sido reconocida por los alumnos como la mejor profesora de la Licenciatura en Derecho (2012) y del Grado en Criminología (2017). La profesora Sanz cuenta también con 3 años de experiencia como Fiscal, siendo Directora de la Unidad de Igualdad de la Universidad de Salamanca entre los años 2011 y 2016.
