I am interested in the way ideas spread, steel-like leadership, and most of all, how to change everything. I'm a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Southern California Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work. My most recent awards include the 2017 Lilly Education Foundation Grant Winner presented by the Lilly Conference on Designing Effective Teaching, and the 2016 Jane Addams Faculty Award at USC. My research is always looking toward innovative strategies for health promotion and disease prevention, individually and community-wide. Examples of this are in my work as Founder and Chair of the Tampa Bay Refugee Task Force Mental Health Team, and faculty lead of the Sport Social Work Task Force at USC. I think a lot about the best and smartest ways to manage refugee mental health initiatives, and how social workers can best support athletes, their allies, and the communities they live in. I'm social :) I tweet @socialworkpulse, and LinkedIn is where I post a lot about my work. I'm joyous about the social work profession and it shows up in all my work.
