Jon Hendricks
Jon Hendricks is a graduate student at the University of South Florida in the department of Humanities and Cultural Studies pursuing a MLA in Film and New Media Studies. Jon is currently focusing research on Pixar's Toy Story (1995, John Lassiter) in relation to our contemporary technological attitude insofar as how we see ourselves existing within the world and how that world appears to us.
Aiming to specialize in philosophers and philosophical/ethical movements such as Martin Heidegger, Emmanuel Levinas, Jacques Derrida, existential phenomenology, environmental ethics, animal ethics, Slavoj Zizek, and so on, Jon seeks to fuse these methodologies with film scholarship to bring light to our current ecological relations with the world.
Supervisors: Amy Rust, Scott Ferguson, and Andrew Winters
Address: Tampa, Florida United States
