Hitherto unpublished, the inscription of the west wall of the Great Chorten is studied and analyzed. This research also reconsiders the identifications of the Buddhist masters portrayed as a lineage in the upper floor of the Sumstek. Our research leads to conclude that Prof. Goepper's hypothesis of an early 13th century chronology for the foundation of Alchi is invalidated due to errors in his translation and assessment of the inscriptions.

However, a recent research of us shows that a large tomb site like Lebri can not belong to one clan only, the buried must be from many different clans and different families.
