Chinyere is a passionate follower of Christ committed to seeing people of other faiths ardently worship Jesus Christ. She has spent nineteen years in academia, teaching, researching, and engaging in community service. Her life goal is to produce transformative men and women for the church and society. Chinyere’s core value includes prayerfulness, honesty, competence, excellence, and community. Her research interest is on the conversion to Islam within sub-Saharan Africa, witchcraft accusations, gender-based violence, and child abuse. There exists a significant scholarly work on the stages of conversion or conversion process among different people group; however, to the best of our knowledge, little exists on the Igbo conversion to Islam. This could be as a result of the phenomenon being a relatively recent development in Igboland, commencing in the second half of the twentieth century (Uchendu in Soc Sci J 47(1):172–188, 2010).
