I grew up in a beautiful Rarámuri town of South Chihuahua, Mexico, known as El Rebaje. I have always been fascinated by forest landscapes, clear water, blue sky, and many other features of natural scenic beauty. Being a son of farmers, I developed an extreme love for forests and farming activities from my childhood, which resulted in my long-term interest in forest ecosystems. I pursued my bachelor's degree from Chapingo University, my master's from ColPos, and my PhD in forestry sciences from UANL. I joined FCF as a full-time professor and researcher with colleagues focused on natural resource conservation and management. Currently, I am broadly interested in forest ecology using tree rings and spatial analysis in GIS environments.
