Hernán Barcos
Hernán Barcos (born April 11, 1984) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a striker for Sporting CP. He is nicknamed El Pirata (The Pirate). He is well known for his finishing ability, technique and strength.
Club career
Early career
Barcos has also played for Red Star, Olmedo, Club Guaraní and Huracán.
On October 7, 2007, he scored his first league goal in Serbia by netting twice in the late minutes against Banat, helping Red Star to get three points. Barcos however, did not leave a good impression so he went back to Racing Club.
Chinese Super League
In February 2009 Barcos signed a year long loan with Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua. However, after a disappointing half season at Shenhua, he was loaned out again by Shenhua to Shenzhen Asia Travel, also a CSL club. He scored the first hat-trick in his career in Shenzhen's 4-0 victory over Changchun Yatai on September 16, 2009. He scored 14 goals in 14 league games with Shenzhen and won Chinese Football Association golden boot award in the end of the season.
