Will I end up with tens of thousands of dollars in loans then?

Probably not.

  • Our students who take loans have an average loan debt of $25,559 at graduation, with a median debt for students of $22,762 (2021-2022).
  • That’s a lot less than the national average of $29,719 per student.
  • Plus, 50% of graduates in the class of 2022 graduated with zero loan debt.

Well, how do I repay more than $25,000?

WSU grads are successful

  • Many of our students hone their work ethic with on-campus opportunities or other part-time jobs.
  • Many WSU students complete an internship or work-related experience by the time they graduate—a career boost not all college students receive.
  • 70% of the class of 2021 were either employed or in graduate school within six months of graduation from WSU.
  • WSU graduates make an average $124,000 in mid-career (Payscale.com, 2022).

As a result, WSU grads are better prepared to pay back their loans.
