The purpose of the study to describe the management of interest programs of learners in the Curriculum 2013 in SMA Negeri 2 Bantul Yogyakarta, including planning, organizing, implementation, and supervision. This type of research is qualitative with data collection techniques: observation, interview, and documentation. Informants are principals, vice principals, teachers, and students. Techniques to check the validity of the data used are observations and triangulation. Data analysis techniques for data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. This article aims to find out and analyze the management of students in educational institutions. This paper examines the management of students in educational institutions. This article method uses the literature study method which relies on data sourced from books, articles in scientific journals related to the subject matter. Management is a process that contributes to individuals and groups understanding how to manage things, just like managing students. Thus the management of students in educational institutions is a process for managing students in order to achieve predetermined educational goals. And those who manage these students are educational institutions (schools) and educators in these educational institutions.
Lembaga pendidikan merupakan lembaga yang terencana, terorganisasi dan di dalamnya terdapat aturan-aturan untuk kelancaran dan kesuksesan dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran di lembaga pendidikan. Ada beberapa manajemen bidang yang ada di lembaga pendidikan masing-masing. Mulai dari manajemen bidang kelembagaan, peserta didik, biaya, sarpras, supervisi dan bidang lainnya. Dengan demikian masing-masing bidang memiliki pembahasannya masing-masing yang berbeda satu dengan yang lainnya. Sebuah lembaga yang tidak memiliki manajemen dan organisasi yang baik maka akan dipandang sebagai lembaga yang ngawur dan terkesan hanya sekedar tempat belajar dan mengajar saja. Lebih dari itu lembaga pendidikan juga perlu adanya penataan sedemikin rupa sehingga mampu menunjang kegiatan belajar mengajar disana, mulai dari kenyamanan, kebersihan dan sarana prasana pendukun yang dibutuhkan di lembaga pendidikan tersebut. Bukan tidak mungkin dengan adanya manajemen yang baik maka akan meningkatkan nilai lembaga pendidikan di kalangan masyarakat luas. Sekolah-sekolah unggulan tentu juga memiliki manajemen yang sangat baik dan teratur, tidak mungkin tanpa adanya manajemen yang baik sekolah tersebut menjadi maju dan unggul. Tanpa manajemen bisa saja sebuah lembaga pendidikan tersebut mengalami penurunan dari segi kualitas dan juga kuantitas. Tentu ini akan menjadi mimpi buruk bagi lembaga pendidikan tersebut apabila karena manajemen yang tidak baik bisa mengakibatkan sekolah tersebut tertinggal dan kehilangan kepercayaan dari masyarakat sehingga semakin berkurang jumlah siswa yang mau sekolah disana. Sudah banyak sekali sekolah sekolah tutup karena kurang baiknya manajemen itu sendiri. Kadang ada yang menganggap sekolah hanya tempat belajar dan mengajar saja, masuk jam 07.00 selesai jam 13.00 tanpa adanya pengelolaan sekolah pada bidang yang lain seperti administrasi, lingkungan sekolah, lingkungan kelas, dan seluruh ruang lingkup yang ada di sekolah. Kami disini akan membahas tentang manajemen peserta didik. Karena menurut kami peserta didik merupakan komponen yang penting dalam kelancaran proses pembelajaran di lembaga pendidikan. Maka manajemen sangatlah penting untuk dilakukan untuk mengatur segala kebutuhan dari peserta didik yang berbeda-beda. Mulai dari kebutuhan individu maupun kebutuhan untuk sekolahnya.
