I See

A poem about the things I see

I See I see the ramparts as they crumble I see the towers as they tumble. I see the minions as they scurry, I see the leaders as they worry. I see the fear and terror spread. I see so many starve for bread. I see the dark and hatred rise. I see it kill the light inside. I see the puppet masters snicker, Thinking they are so much quicker, Unaware that God is grinning, And of a new spring dawn beginning. And I could say, “time’s a wasting.” Point at crumble as it hastens. But by now we know their answer. They simply will not fight their cancer. So as their fear and panic spreads. And as their world fabric it shreds. I watch the breath within them fly. And the power in them die. And for those that hear I say. I think it’s time that we all pray. For safe passage through this storm. So with the new world we’ll be born. Mike Sosteric 2022
