Our world’s resources, has been decaying faster than we imagine. The major issues in which most of the countries face now are global economic crisis, energy issues and climate change. The idea of green economy has emerged as a solution for a sustainable development as per UNEP 2011. ICT industry has been identified as one of the key solution for the reduction of green house gas to a certain extent. This paper discusses about the sources of CO2 , the impacts due to tremendous increase in CO2 and a green solution for the reduction of CO2 with the help of ICT.
Editor’s Introduction: In this article the authors evaluate the impact of different sectors of information and communication technologies (ICT) on energy consumption of society, and on CO2 emissions. ICT is understood to cover computer and peripheral equipment including local area networks, telecommunication equipment and networks, and data centers. In 2012, close to 4.7 percent of the world’s electrical energy was consumed by ICT, releasing into the atmosphere roughly 1.7 percent of the total CO2 emissions. These numbers are growing, although the improving energy efficiency of ICT equipment leads to a slower growth of these metrics than the increase of ICT's usage worldwide. On the other hand, ICT can contribute to a reduction in energy consumption and CO2 impact in other sectors, such as transportation, smart buildings and virtual work and learning. Regarding transportation, studies show in the United States the average number of miles traveled in private vehicles has decreased significantly since 2007 despite a sustained growth over many decades; the drop has persisted after the end of the most recent economic crisis, suggesting that these energy savings may be attributed to changes in the modes of work and commerce induced by ICT.

Green information technology systems (Green ITS) are proposed as a strategy to reduce greenhouse gases (GHGs) emissions and other environmental impacts while supporting ecological sustainable development. The Green ITS concept combines both Green information technology (IT) and Green information system (IS) applications. The Green ITS concept has the potential to combat the carbon emission problem globally, beyond simply Green IT, because it combines management, organizational, and technology dimensions of climate change mitigation and adaptation, especially if supported by global policy. Examples include life cycle assessment software for measuring GHG emissions, and software for monitoring GHG emissions. Previous studies on environmental burdens such as GHGs, water and air pollution, energy losses and other forms of waste alongside socio-economic dependent variables including renewable resources and climate change policies are reviewed and synthesized. The research analysis conjoi...

Through an extensive analysis of early biographical dictionaries and histories, hadith collections and commentaries, as well as legal texts, I reconstruct the life of a female jurist from the third generation of Muslims. It was through informal networks of kinship and scholarship that ʿAmrah bint ʿAbd al-Rahman (d. 106/724) contributed to the core of Islamic knowledge in ways similar to her male contemporaries, while she also served as a resource within the community for the gender-specific concerns of women. The depth of her knowledge established ʿAmrah’s narrations as reliable evidence of the Prophet Muhammad’s conduct and endowed her own opinions and deeds with an authoritative weight respected by contemporaries and subsequent generations of Muslim scholars.
