2.Introduction:
❑ If you are in senior secondary school right now, you are at a great
point in your life.
❑ It is a good time to start thinking about your future.
9
❑ Make some initial plans and keep in mind that plans can easily be
changed.
❑ The decision you make at the end of your secondary school
education is of utmost importance. It affects not only your further
education and employment, but your life.
❑ Majority of science students are fond of selecting the popular
career paths such as Medicine, Pharmacy and Engineering.
❑ While encouraging the youth to study hard and get accepted in
their respective courses of interest, it is also important to enlighten
them about the less popular career paths that offers abundant
opportunities in the modern world.
3.What is a career?
❑ A career is the time and effort devoted to the pursuance of work in
order to live a meaningful life. It include all the periods spent planning,
acquiring education and series of jobs during a person’s life time.
❑ Career has also been defined as “the sum total of decisions that
direct your educational, social, political and spiritual endeavours and
reflect your unique personality characteristics and basic life values”.
4.Medicine and Pharmacy:
❑ Enjoyed great popularity due to their potentials of transforming
individual lives
❑ Youths needs to be enlightened on high competition in these
professions e.g.
▪ Admission requirements: 5 O’ Level credits in Math, English,
Chemistry, Biology and Physics + the required UTME score.
▪ In the current year (2023) the minimum UTME requirement
(weighted average score) in BUK and some other universities to study
Medicine is 220 points.
10
▪ However, because of the large number of applicants with weighted
average score greater than 220, the admission quota is filled with
students that had a score of 290 and above.
Possible career choices for science students
Medicine and Pharmacy:
❑ The “popular professions” have been expanded to equally “vibrant
and lucrative”
5 Disciplines e. g
Medical laboratory science, Dentistry and dental surgery, Optometry,
Nutrition and dietetics, Anatomy and several other disciplines.
❑ In this presentation, the intention is not to discourage students
from following their career of interest, but to expose them to the
numerous options available.
❑ Therefore, a student can select his dream course of study in the
UTME, however he should keep track of the institution’s minimum
admission requirement.
❑ A student should be familiar with the available ways provided by
the UTME board for change of university or programme
Physical and Life Sciences
6 Challenges:
❑ One of the common problems faced by many of our youths today
is the choice of an appropriate career path.
❑ Students are often carried away by “fancy” names in the choice of
a course or institution.
❑ As a result, science students rarely consider courses in other
faculties apart from Medicine and Engineering.
❑ However, there are a good number of faculties and departments
that offer modern and attractive degree programs that are full of
11
prospects.
❑ Department of Chemistry
❑ Department of Physics
❑ Department of Biology
❑ Department of Mathematics

Assalamualaikum warahmatulahi Ta'ala Wabarakatuh, the people of

Marital conflicts can be defined as the state of tension or stress
between. marital partners as the couple try to carry out their marital

roles. The fact that two people agree or plan to live. together as
husband and wife calls for different expectations and hopes, some of
which might be fulfilled while.
The two types of marital conflicts
According to John Gottman, a leading research scientist on marriage
and family, all marital conflicts fall into one of two categories: either
they can be resolved, or they are perpetual, which means they will be
part of your lives forever in some form or another.
Other example of a marital conflict. the types of marital conflict
Six Types of Conflict in Marriage
Conflict #1 Sin of One Spouse.
Conflict #2 Immaturity or Brokenness of One Person.
Conflict #4: Conflicting Desires.
Conflict #5: Desires of One Person Versus the Needs of the
Relationship.
Conflict #6: Known Versus Unknown Problems.
The causes of marital conflict
Unmet expectations – unreasonable expectations.
Conflicting standpoints on the subject of children.
Inability to manage marriage finances.
16
Allocation of time to marriage and personal pursuits.
Lack of sexual compatibility.
Breakdown in communication.
Mismatched dynamics and imbalanced powerplay in personalities.
Finances: Money is one of the most common issues married couples
fight about. Whether you're talking about spending styles, how much
is in your savings account, how much you should spend on vacations
and holidays, or even how the two of you view finances, money is a
hot topic.
How to resolve conflict in your marriage.

Conclusion
In conclusion interpretation of the knowledge, skills and experience
learnt from the site with evidence: I realizes the main functions of Fagge
social welfare. A social welfare system that counsell individuals and groups
as the case may be to provide assistance to individuals and families in
need, with such programs as health care assistance, food stamps, and
unemployment compensation. Lesser known parts of a social welfare
system include disaster relief and educational assistance. However, the
welfare of society, esp. of those segments of society that are
underprivileged or disadvantaged because of poverty, poor education,
18
unemployment. Social workers typically do the following:
I. Address individual's and communities in need of help.
II. Appraise clients' needs, difficulties, situations, weakness, strengths, and
provide networks to determine their goals.
III. Counsell clients adjust to changes and challenges in their concerns,
such as social issues, needs, wishes, dreams, conflicts, illness, divorce,
or unemployment.
Suggestion(s) for Improvement
My major suggestions to the Fagge Welfare office Kano are as follows.
1- Renovation of the centre with modern equipment to provide stable
environment for the Counselling interaction.
2- Punctuality of the staff should be improved meaningfully
3- Use of modern facilities to render effective services precisely
4- Manifest a clear signboard to address the centre, for easy location of the
client. As such even the us, suffer before finding the exact office.
5- Give the students more chance to interact with the clients.
6- The Chief officer should Interact with the client privately, not in public for
confidentiality and true reflection of the concers.
7- Reciept should be given to the client for forms fee, to ensure
accountability and transparency. Thanks, reported by Yahaya Ado
