Indian Miniature Paintings: An Incredible Cultural Heritage2022 •
Art and artistic expression are an important dimension of human culture that has made man 'Homo aestheticus'. Indian paintings relating to the ancient past of the country can be broadly classified into two categories: murals and miniatures. Miniature paintings were painted on a small scale on perishable materials such as paper and cloth for books or albums. The present paper deals with the emergence and development of miniature paintings in India. It is basically a conceptual paper, therefore, mainly secondary sources of data have been used for the study. Starting with the Pala style, several schools of miniature paintings were developed in different regions of India during the last several centuries. These were the result of the social, religious, economic and political scenario of the respective regions of India. Although they were influenced by each other, they also had their own distinct characteristics. Important schools of Indian miniature paintings are Pala, Jain, Mughal, Rajasthan, Orissa, Pahari and Deccan schools. Miniature paintings form a very significant facet of Indian culture, as they are important conveyor of times gone by. Also, all these schools of miniatures are a testament to the importance of art in Indian culture. Therefore, through this paper based on ancient miniature paintings, readers can get special information about the culture concerned. STUDY OF PRESENT-DAY INDIAN MINIATURE TRADITION: THROUGH THE PAINTINGS OF CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS VIRENDRA BANNU AND WASWO X. WASWO2023 •
Looking at the art history, we see that art has evolved through the ages. A significant development can be seen in Indian miniature art tradition too. It is perceived that the foundation principles of miniature art remains the same however, the changes occurred in the stylistic creation and presentation of the composition. There is no way that the fundamentals and intrinsic meaning has been disappeared with course of time. This paper aims at studying the various aspects of present-day Indian Miniature Tradition through an analysis of the miniature paintings of contemporary artists Virendra Bannu and Waswo X. Waswo. Socio-political, cultural, and economic factors are measured to determine the evolution and to understand its significance in defining the contemporary miniature art. This study will also unfold how traditional methods have been kept alive throughout the generations in course of time in spite of tremendous advances of the modern world. Practicing artist's interview and some paintings are considered in the paper to come to a conclusion.

PICTORIAL ELEMENTS OF INDIAN MINIATURE PAINTING2022 •
This paper discusses the magnificent contribution of Indian miniature painters as the torch bearer of Indian visual culture for the future generations with transitions and various idioms. It's Visual imagery was raised to paramount importance from the religious text to the great tradition of Paintings. Artist has not imitated nature but imbibed the spirit of divinity, greater love and passion in Indian culture. Its function is religious as well as decorative. "Horrorvacuue" the desire of filling space is the common characteristics of an Indian is often appears in Indian painting. The articulations of line, colour, space are discussed in this article. The Climatic conditions might have allowed the Indian painter to experience unusual color patterns. The deep rooted veneration for religion and nature to fulfill the taste of his patron. Which made him a distinct artist in the world forever.

UNVEILING MUGHAL MINIATURES: TREASURES OF PUDUCHERRY'S ECOLE FRANCAISE D'EXTRÊME-ORIENT2023 •
Puducherry, one of India's storied historic cities, is the custodian of a vast collection of ancient paintings, miniatures, sculptures, historical artifacts and more. These treasures are meticulously preserved within government offices, museums, art galleries and hotels. This research project narrows its focus to a select group of Mughal period miniatures drawn from this rich and diverse cultural reservoir. The Ecole Francaise d'Extrême-Orient, a renowned French research institute, is located on Rue Dumas Street in Puducherry and is fully dedicated to the thorough investigation of Indian culture, history and society. The institution was established in Puducherry in 1950 and it houses paintings, miniatures, sculptures and antiques in its basement. It is believed to contain about 35 priceless paintings. This amazing collection includes a wide range of artistic genres and materials, from paper and ivory to wooden frames, metal plates and even terracotta surfaces. Among these artworks, the most notable are the ivory miniatures dating back to the Mughal period. "The researcher's objective is to examine five specific portraits featuring three-quarter busts of women and love scenes within these ivory Mughal miniature paintings. These artworks offer a concise yet profound glimpse into the rich tapestry of Indian culture and heritage. The depiction of women's attire showcases the diversity and elegance inherent in Indian fashion, while the portrayal of love scenes celebrates the cultural significance of romance and emotional connections, thus emphasizing India's deep-rooted cultural traditions. The meticulous detailing within these works underscores the exceptional artistry of Indian artisans, while the expressions and postures of the depicted characters provide valuable insights into the societal norms and values of the era. In essence, these miniature paintings encapsulate the multifaceted essence of Indian heritage." Employing a rigorous combination of fieldwork and historical research methodologies, this research endeavor seeks to illuminate the origins, historical contexts, aesthetic attributes, stylistic intricacies and technical craftsmanship inherent in these Mughal era miniatures. Additionally, this study aspires to unveil the intricate tradition, dynamic evolution and profound cultural significance embodied by this cherished art form.
