Kuwait's cooperative societies ("co-ops") are vital institutions that are a hub for social, economic, and political activities. In this article we focus on the purpose of coops from a socio-political perspective. We argue that coops function both as bottom-up organizations and as a means of upholding citizen autonomy versus the state. Historically they emerged as grassroots initiatives in the pre-oil era and have played a significant role in the country's socio-political arena. Due to their role in securing citizens' autonomy and thereby upholding the social contract between the ruler and the citizen, the coops contribute to legitimizing the regime. Coops have not been studied closely and a new research agenda studying these organizations in Kuwait and the region is necessary.

The paper examines the present fintech ecosystem in India in general and assesses the efficiency of fintech firms operating in lending and payment verticals. Twelve companies were randomly selected from the top-rated fintech companies in India having an operational track record of four years and more. Financial data of these firms for three years (from 2017-2020) was used for evaluating the efficiency by applying the DEA model. The results indicate that 42 percent of the companies were unable to achieve profitability. The interest obligation (36%) on short-term borrowings which constitute 68 percent of current liabilities is the major contributor to the operating cost of lending firms. Companies from payment verticals are less homogeneous in their component-wise distribution of operating cost. Lo scopo del presente contributo è di analizzare il concetto di controllo in prospettiva filosofica. In particolare, si procederà dalla definizione e differenziazione dei sistemi di controllo alla presentazione della relazione tra la dinamica del controllo e la struttura di finalizzazione che appare caratterizzare i sistemi biologici. Il contributo è diviso in quattro sezioni. Le prime due sezioni sono dedicate alla definizione della dinamica del controllo, con particolare riferimento alla connessine tra sistema da controllare e sistema sotto controllo e alla differenziazione dei sistemi di controllo, con particolare riferimento alla distinzione tra sistemi ad anello aperto, sistemi ad anello chiuso e sistemi ad anello chiuso adattativi.
