A first section is devoted to analyze – on the basis of Nasrid sources – how the memory of the Berbers and Arabs who conquered and submitted al-Andalus was preserved. The two following sections focus on those ‘who entered’ the Iberian Peninsula in the so-called first and second wave, who they were and how they were organized. The last section is devoted to their settlements and how they influenced their relationships with the submitted population.
