En topografía, el uso de poligonales es un proceso que se ha venido dando desde hace mucho tiempo, ya que es un método que nos servirá para tomar puntos de referencia y de apoyo para generar detalles y elaborar planos, para el control y replanteo de obras civiles, arquitectónicas, etc. Antes que nada, debemos tener en calor cual es el concepto de una poligonal, no es nada más que una sucesión de líneas que nos servirán para determinar la posición de los vértices de la poligonal. Existen distintos tipos de poligonales, pero nos centraremos en una de ellas: la poligonal abierta con control y sin control.
La polinización es la transferencia de polen (célula masculina) desde los estambres (parte masculina de la flor) hasta el estigma (parte femenina de la flor) y hace posible la fecundación, y por lo tanto la producción de frutos y semillas. Aunque la polinización puede ser llevada a cabo tanto por vectores bióticos (animales) como abióticos (agua o viento), la gran mayoría de plantas con flores (angiospermas) dependen de los primeros, principalmente de aquella mediada por insectos.
