Extraordinary garment in the Museo Nacional in Colombia. The attached is the one page published version, joined with the original text version
Señores de Los Imperios del Sol, 2014
This is the original English manuscript of Los Vestidos del Sapa Inca, la Coya y los nobles del imperio, which was published in Spanish in Señores de Los Imperios del Sol (2014). The high status clothing types of both sexes are described, along with the ways in which clothing expressed gradations of rank (color, material, use of tukapu, size, etc.). The use of tukapu in high status garments is discussed, as well as attributes of this system of graphic expression.
This publication is based on papers presented in a conference on the Incas, held in 2014 at the Linden-Museum. 30 other authors also have papers published in this volume, and the linked PDF includes all of them.
