This paper presents two Byzantine fault-tolerant state machine replication (BFT) algorithms that are minimal in several senses. First, they require only 2 f+ 1 replicas, instead of the usual 3 f+ 1. Second, the trusted service in which this reduction of replicas is based is arguably minimal: it provides an interface with a single function and is composed only by a counter and a signature generation primitive.
(ENG) In this paper, the study of a corner ashlar decorated with volutes is presented. The piece is currently part of the collection of the Museo Íbero of Jaén. This architectural element, found out of context on the eastern face of the oppidum of Giribaile (Vilches, Jaén) was published in a succinct form in 1998. Now, thanks to the 3D scan-ning and digitalisation, a more complete study is presented. This includes a trial restitution of the piece, its ar-chaeological analysis and a proposed dating. This date coincides with the last phase of the archaeological site.

Several years ago, I presented a two-day workshop in a large European city. Simultaneous translation from English to the local language was made available to the participants. I met the professional translator (who was not a psychotherapist) at the beginning of the day but did not speak with her at length. Complimenting has been a criterion within Solution-Focused Brief Therapy history and tradition. From the early development of the approach in Milwaukee, compliments played a key role in pointing out client strengths/resources and heightening the end-of-session task. In this manuscript, complimenting is reviewed historically. Then the practice is critiqued using the notion of " not-knowing " (Anderson & Goolishian, 1992; De Jong & Berg, 2012), followed by a commentary on possible cultural considerations that need to be considered by the SF practitioner. Finally, a review of traditional complimenting is offered along with additional types, with alternate applications and clinical examples that better fit with not-knowing and intercultural practices (Miller, 2014). The article is devoted to the study of apostasy, in other words, the conversions of Christians to paganism among the senatorial nobility of the city of Rome in the 4th century AD. The work is based on the analysis of patristic tradition (works of Ambrosius of Mediolanum and the so-called Ambrosiaster), polemical anti-Pagan poetry (Carmen contra paganos and Carmen ad senatorem ex Christiana religione ad idolorum servitutem conversum), as well as late Roman law codes (Codex Theodosianus). The conclusion is made that the conversion of Christian senators to pagan cults was not rare. The main motives for returning to paganism were their disappointment in Christian teaching and the actions of the Church organization, the desire to occupy one of the honorable and lucrative positions in the priestly colleges of Rome, or the eagerness to acquire the support of a powerful pagan patron. Following the nobility’s steps, the Roman plebeians, accustomed to perceiving the aristocrats as a cultural ideal, often converted to paganism. The government of the Christian Empire tried to prevent apostasy and, beginning from 381 (384), restricted the property rights of apostates (especially the right to make wills). Since 391, those who had converted to paganism began to be subjected to deprivation of civil rights after which the representatives of the senatorial nobility who had previously accepted Christianity no longer dared to return to their ancestral cults.
