One of the most important themes in recent thinking about racial justice has been a shift in emphasis away from the traditional issue of racial discrimination, toward an exploration of the various forms of privilege that dominant groups enjoy. Many of the privileges that whites have been encouraged to explore, however, do not stem directly from their racial identity, but rather from the fact that they belong the majority demographic group. Describing these benefits as a “privilege” is often intended to suggest that there is something objectionable or unjust about them. On closer examination, that claim turns out to be extremely controversial. This paper examines some of the major arguments that have been made by egalitarian philosophers on this question, before concluding with a few take-away lessons for issues of pedagogy and racial justice.

Michelangelo's Florence Pietà can be seen as the artist's last statement concerning spirituality. One of the interpretations of the sculpture is that for him salvation comes from faith alone and that a place in heaven could not be bought nor any amount of good deeds could get oneself to heaven. This was the main idea behind the Spirituali, a group of Italian reformists, who were also called Nicodemites, in honor of Nicodemus. This research paper will analyze different scholar approaches in order to identify the figures and their meaning within the master's last sculpture.
What should professors do differently when teaching undergraduate students online as compared to teaching graduate students online? In what ways must professors modify their online course structure, teaching styles, and class policies when handling these two very different student groups? This paper will discuss the approaches that two professors, representing the College of Education at a regional southeastern university, utilize to provide support, scaffolding, and strategies for success to both of these important populations. Best practices, tips, and suggestions from the research for facilitating both undergraduate and graduate students in asynchronous online classes will be discussed.
