At the Sustainable Development Summit on 25 September 2015, the 193 UN (United Nation) member states adopted the 2030 development agenda titled Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for SustainableDevelopment which includes a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals to end poverty, fightinequality and injustice, and tackle climate change by 2030, covering topics on Poverty, Food, Health, Education, Women, Water, Energy, Economy, Infrastructure, Inequality, Habitation, Consumption, Climate, Marino systems, Ecosystems, Institutions, and Sustainability. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aim to put countries and the planet on a more sustainable path by 2030. These goals are the foundation of an ambitious new development agenda that seeks to end poverty, help the vulnerable, transform lives and protect the planet. The SDGs are a bold, inclusive and universal commitment to the people and the planet. This new development agenda applies to all countries, promotes peaceful and inclusive societies, creates better jobs and tackles the environmental challenges of our time, particularly climate change. But with the promise of development and better livelihoods still inaccessible for millions of people, humanity needs to come together to end hunger, reach full gender equality, improve health services, and get every child into school. We must shift the world onto a more sustainable trajectory. The SDGs are the post-millennium global goals started from 2016 and as a member state, Bangladesh is also committed to attain the goals and targets.
