PROJETOS INTERDISCIPLINARES E LETRAMENTO ESTATÍSTICO, 2016
This work aims to present some results observed in our master's research involving the statistical literacy an approach through interdisciplinary projects, in this case, particularly, between Portuguese and Mathematics. We consider statistical literacy as key to academic education for professional life and, above all, for the exercise of citizenship in our society. We believe that the teaching and learning of statistics through projects a chance for the development of statistical literacy. Such an approach, guided by assumptions of Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) changes, notably, the relationship between teacher, student and know, typical of the didactic contract, as characterized in the Theory of Didactic Situations (TSD), promoting greater autonomy for the students in developing their research. To analyze these two phenomena - the development of literacy and changes in the didactic contract - an approach through projects, we conducted a case study. Our research subjects were 43 students aged 17-20 years old from two classes of third year of high school, divided into nine groups of four or five members. They participated, during a school two months, the entire process of developing a statistical research, from the choice of subject and the preparation of the research question to the analysis and dissemination of results under the guidance of two teachers of Portuguese Language and Mathematics, in mixed classes. The results showed that this approach encourages the development of statistical literacy, as well as creating conditions for a breach of didactic contract, important for the development of the autonomy of students, preparing them for future challenges in their lives, the university, market work or in any other situation.
