Sustainable Land Management (SLM) is used as a tool in order to ensure the proper use of land resources i.e., animal, plants, water and soil for producing goods with a view to mitigating the increasing demand of humankind. It also ensures at the same time the continuation of the long term productive capacity of such land resources. In addition, the environmental functions of such resources also remain the same without impairing the environment and climate. Thus, it prevents land degradation and so the overall agricultural production may thrive with the use of modern and environment friendly technology. Bangladesh is a very small country in the world map with chronic shortage of land. Moreover, every year the country is facing land degradation due to diverse human and natural causes. In this situation, the country needs some drastic steps to be taken by the concerned authority to tackle the situation and prevent it to be much worsened. Considering such issues in hand, in Bangladesh the sustainable land management system has its inauguration in September 2015 through the 'Decision Support for Scaling up and Maintaining Sustainable Land Management (DS-SLM)' project financed by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and launched by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations (UN). This paper analyses the challenges and prospects of the initiation and maintenance of the Sustainable Land Management System in Bangladesh and the ways to prevent land degradation to ensure climate sustainability and food safety for the people of this region.

Herhangi bir akademik araştırma sahasında özellikle lisansüstü öğretime henüz yeni adım atan genç akademisyen adayları için en tedirgin edici süreç, çoğunlukla araştırılmaya değer bir “konu” bulma aşamasıdır. Danışman hocalar, kimi zaman yoğunluktan kimi zaman da başka sebeplerden dolayı öğrencilerine “detaylandırılabilecek bir konu” hususunda yardımcı olmakta zorlanabilmektedir. Yüksek lisans ve doktora öğrencilerinin yıllarına mal olacak uzun soluklu akademik çalışmaların bu en kritik aşaması olan “konu bulma” serencamında mütevazı bir yardım sunabilme fikri bu makalenin yazılış amacıdır. Makale, modern Arap romanı araştırmaları alanında yaklaşık on yıllık bir tecrübenin arkadan gelen genç kuşaklara aktarımına dairdir. Girişte araştırma sahasına ilişkin genel bir bilgi verilecek ve sonrasında ise Arap edebiyatı alanında akademik çalışmalar yapmayı düşünen genç araştırmacılara Arap romanı alanında araştırılmaya değer muhtemel konu ve yazarlar hakkında tavsiyelerde bulunacaktır. Makalenin tarama alanı bir bütün halinde geniş bir coğrafyaya şamil olduğundan dolayı eserlerin biçim ve içeriğine değinilmeyecektir. İncelenmesi tavsiye edilen eser ve yazarlara dair Arap dünyasında yapılmış çalışmalara dipnotlarda yer verilecektir.

Si les violences politiques sont parfois le fait d’individus isolés, elles sont le plus souvent des actions organisées, c’est-à-dire inspirées, parfois planifiées, prises en charge, voire produites par des organisations dont les objectifs sont politiques. Les violences d’origine étatique sont, de loin, les plus meurtrières, mais celles des groupes non-étatiques demeurent une composante essentielle des dynamiques politiques contemporaines, partout dans le monde. Cet ouvrage met, plus particulièrement, l’accent sur ce deuxième type de violences, que la théorie politique considère, par principe, comme illégitime, mais qui, du point de vue des acteurs qui la perpétuent, peut se justifier, notamment quand il s’agit de protéger le statut d’un groupe dominant ou, à l’inverse, d’imposer les revendications d’un groupe marginalisé. Les enquêtes présentées dans cet ouvrage proviennent de chercheur-e-s ayant une longue familiarité avec leur terrain, que ce soit en Afghanistan, en Algérie, au Burundi, en Colombie, en Libye, au Pakistan, en Turquie et, plus largement, au Moyen-Orient. Elles témoignent toutes qu’il ne manque pas d’individus prêts à passer à l’action violente.

Under natural conditions, Chroothece richteriana synthesizes a fairly high proportion of fatty acids. However, nothing is known about how environmental changes affect their production, or about the production of protective compounds, when colonies develop under full sunshine with high levels of UV radiation. In this study wild colonies of C. richteriana were subjected to increasing temperature, conductivity, ammonium concentrations and PAR and UV radiations to assess the potential changes in lipid composition and MAAs concentration. The PERMANOVA analysis detected no differences for the whole fatty acid profile among treatments, but the percentages of α-linolenic acid and total polyunsaturated fatty acids increased at the lowest assayed temperature.
