Figure 1: Presentation at Street Art and Urban Creativity conference 2018 (photo by Urban Creativity ) In this talk I presented my new book, Street Art and the Environment (2018). The book costs £17.99 + shipping and can be ordered via http://streetartworld.bigcartel.com/ . A main thesis in the book and in the talk is that street art may influence the way we perceive and use public space, and that street art can work as a potential agent of social and environmental change. The talk mainly focused on the potential of art in particular street art to change the way we think about environmental issues and our place in the ecosystems we are part of, and how street art may promote behavioral changes by engaging viewers on an emotional level rather than through facts and numbers. The talk included a number of environment-themed street artworks and also discussed how seeing such works on social media rather than in real life may influence their impact.
