Evolutionary Collaborative Design Studios

In Collaborative Design Studios (CDS), knowledge and information can be shared in discussions through a network environment while developing alternative solutions. In this a paper, Evolutionary Design Collaboration (EDC) model is developed to provide a framework for the collaboration of two design courses, based on situatedness and reflective practice issues. An ongoing study in CDS that involves an information and a collaboration web site within the framework of EDC model, is explained. Finally, an instrument for assessment of CDS, in which the segmentation method is used to analyse the design critiques and design diaries, is developed.
