The opening and dedication of the new Unitarian Church, Ponsonby Road, took place on Wednesday. The Rev. W. Jellie presided at the dedication service. The church was well filled, and the walls were tastefully decorated. The choir and orchestra were under the baton of Mr. Gribble, choirmaster, assisted by Mr. Edgar Walton, organist. “Break Forth into Joy ” (Caleb Simper), by the full choir, was a feature. In the singing of the hymns the congregation joined whole-heartedly. The party adjoined to the Foresters ’ Hall, where a sumptuous repast was provided. A social gathering and public meeting were held in the evening....At intervals in the addresses, vocal and instrumental items were given. On Sunday next Rev.
