New Imaging: Transdisciplinary strategies for art beyond the new media, 2010
This paper takes an overview of painting’s morphology by way of Heidegger’s discussion of the Greek term phusis, a self unfolding emergence, that drives all matter, ranging from the earth itself through to the material element of the artwork in the moment of its making. By focusing on phusis, and related terms morphe and poesis, an understanding of ‘original aesthetics’ (Greek thinking on painting and sculpture) can be developed for comparison with contemporary art in its ‘post-medium condition’ (Krauss). The new ontological paradigm of contemporary art evokes another discourse, a ‘post aesthetics’ that overcomes the subjective bias of modern philosophical aesthetics in favour of a primary relationship to things and their mode of presence in the world. As a result, contemporary expanded painting is shown to be a radical revision of art , a moment of ontological ‘presencing’ favouring spatial environments and temporal events that reveal ‘what is’ and ‘what matters’ in a contemporary techno-scientific age.
Gun Free Kitchen Tables, 2023
Under the umbrella (or guise) of emergency security needs, but in direct continuation of its policies prior to the Hamas terrorist attach of October 7, Israel's current government is fast tracking a combination of legislation, executive decisions and action which are generating an enormous spike in small arms proliferation throughout the civilian population. The vast majority of newly licensed and armed gun bearers are (or will be) Jewish men, most of them ex servicemen. In addition, a meaningful proportion of them will be members of nationalist, religious , overtly racist groups , both in the West Bank settlements and in recent years in Israeli cities and towns, especially those whose population includes both Jews and Palestinian citizens (“mixed cities”). Many of these could not obtain a gun license under the previous eligibility regulations and many operate under the protection or with the acquiescence of security forces. Since Israeli citizens travel freely with personal weapons to and from the West Bank (unlike the besieged Gaza Strip), the surge in weapons affects both areas, and increasingly the mixed cities that have become the new frontiers of the settlement movement.

This study aims to examine the use of Information and Communication Technologies in the teaching-learning by teachers of elementary education from a state school in Gramado/RS, through the application of a workshop on Teacher Website and use suggestions classes, thus contributing to digital inclusion. It is understandable therefore that the use of Information and Communication Technologies in school can make new goals for education, promoting students into a society of continuous production of information, thus providing the participation in a critical and participatory citizenship. The use of new technological resources tends to provide new experiences and teaching practices through the interaction between the foreground and the school. Thus, the use of Internet is also necessary in this technological advancement, since it contributes to the development and dissemination of information. Therefore, this paper intends to consider the relevant importance of Information and Communication Technologies in the school and its use directly with elementary school students.
Paragone, 2023
