Really enjoyed this story and the characters involved! There were some areas I felt could go a little deeper, like the uncle’s perspective for instance or various other characters, but honestly that’s just a personal knit pick, because the story was lovely regardless. Thanks for a touch of magic, erotic romance, and melanated wonder 💛

I think i love the idea of this book more than the book itself.

At times the FMC felt incredibly underdeveloped and far too aware of her situation. (Think if we as readers were put into our fave stories opposite beloved characters lol) She felt less like a fully realised person to me and more like a character just absolutely gagging for the MMC lol

I also think the burn was excruciatingly slow for my tastes, & not all that fiery or worth it in the end.

It felt like they spent a lot of time apart so as I'm nearing the end of their romance, I'm struggling to see romance you know.

Having said that, this book is well written, the narrative itself is intriguing and the MMC has enough characterisation to make up for the FMC.

The world building is great and explained really well, and makes for a great backdrop to the main characters and their story.

It's not my fave thing, but it was a good read, and the lil gargoyle is mad cute lol

This was my first book from Angela Ford and I picked I based on the cover and the fact that it was inspired by the Piper. It was quick and easy read, without realizing I was half way through the book.

I enjoyed the story it was fast paced. There were some parts where I would have loved some more information about the characters but it wasn't something that took from the story. The characters were interesting, Tanith is very head strong and makes a great heroine. Oren is one of those characters that you can like from the beginning even though he suppose to the villain.

There are two spicy scenes in here but done with just enough to fuel your imagination. So if spice is not your thing it not graphic. I did the enjoy the ending, which is a bit spicy.

Definitely won't be the last book from Angela Ford.

First off, the love story was weak and the rate of it progressed felt sudden. But I can ignore if the rest of the plot was good.
I liked the central conflict (not what I was expecting but still good). Although I kept wondering if the parallels to the story of Exodus was purposeful. Slight spoiler but Oren has the same goal as Moses. Again, I don't think it's a bad thing, I just wish if you are going to do that on purpose, acknowledge you are doing it.

This is my first time reading a Gothic or fantasy romance novel. Ms. Ford truly has a way with words. Reading it felt like I was watching a movie. It was incredible.
